Clocks change – Sunday game now from 2pm

This weekend (29–30 Oct) the clocks change so we’ll start the Sunday pickup at the earlier time of 2pm (and will until the clocks change again next Spring).

(Note: quite a lot of us are going to Cantebury for a tournament this weekend, so turnout this Sunday, 30 Oct may be a little low).

Directions to indoors venues

Wednesday 7.30pm till 9.00pm in St Thomas More RC School, Wood Green Walk round the side of the school. Large gym hall is located in the building opposite the astro turf footy pitch.

Thursday 7.00pm to 8.30pm in Stoke Newington School, Clissold.Enter by gate opposite Clissold Leisure centre (press buzzer to get buzzed in – there will be someone in the reception facing the gate). Walk straight ahead (past reception on your right) & enter school corridor directly facing gate. Turn right down that corridor and go up first flight of stairs so you’re walking along the corridor 1 floor up. Continue right to end of corridor, gym is the last door on the RHS. Leave your bike at Clissold Leisure centre bike racks rather than inside the school.

Indoors season

Pickup on Monday on the bank holidays

Pickup in Clissold Park from ~6.30pm on Wednesdays

With the end of indoors we will now be playing pickup in Clissold Park from ~6.30pm on Wednesdays till dark. (Basically as soon as people can get there from work).

Games are played in NW corner of Clissold Park.

No need to email – just rock up, introduce yourself and join in!

Skills session Sunday 20th Feb

This Sunday (20th Feb) from 12pm to 2pm we are organising a skills and drills session OPEN TO ALL.

We have got a top line-up of throws coaches who will work with small groups (2-3 players per coach) to help improve throwing technique.

Alongside this, I will be running some new drills on cutting and attacking the disc.

In the second half of the session we will have some games with those people wanting to play mixed tour (and other experienced players) in one game allowing us to work on some structure, tactics etc. With some games of 3-on-3 mini for the others to give a good chance to get plenty of practice with some of the stuff learnt from the throwing and cutting sessions.

Afterwards the pick-up game would run as usual from 2pm-ish onwards.

We have two indoors venues this year and play in Wood Green on Wednesdays and Stoke Newington on Thursdays.

With the evenings drawing in, pickup is now starting a little earlier – at 4pm so we have more playing time.

From Sunday 31 October (when the clocks go back) pickup will start at 2pm.
