Summer League / Weds pickup games

Please note that during early July to late August, Summer League normally takes the place of the Wednesday pickup games.

If you want to come along and play pickup at Clissold please come to the Sunday game during this period.

During Mixed Tour there will be no open structured practice sessions

For the duration of Mixed Tour (i.e. till mid-July) I will concentrating on training with the Curve Mixed Tour team, and will not be running open structured practice sessions on Sunday.
Pickup games will, of course, continue on Sundays from ~5pm.

Due to park space issues now we’re into Summer, practice will be at **4pm** this Sunday (18 May)

I’ll be there from 3.30pm and if anyone wants any throwing tips, then just ask.

Change of time for Sunday practice and pickup game

From this Sunday (27 April), the pickup game will start at 5pm. Please bring a light and a dark top!

Structured practices will now start at ‘3pm for 3.30pm’. i.e. get there for 3pm, get thrown in. We’ll start a group warmup at 3.30pm. Please don’t turn up after 3.30pm and expect to join the practice

There will be no pre-pickup game practice on Tour wknds (27 April, 11 May), or on the wknd of 4 May as I’ll be away. So next practice will be 18 May.

Practice 13 April at 1pm

Practice will be at 1pm on Sunday 13 April. Pickup game at 2.30pm.

From next week we may start to move the start times later as it’s lighter later – will post here to confirm.

Please be booted up and ready to go at 1pm if you are coming for the structured practice. We’ll be focusing on breakforce throwing and swinging off the line today.

Wednesday outdoors pickup game

From this wednesday – 5/4 – there will be a regular outdoors pickup game in clissold park from ~6.30pm… until it gets too dark to play.

No 1pm practice session sunday 6/4 – but usual 2.30pm pickup game

Due to tour1 there will be no 1pm practice session this sunday 6/4 – but there will be the usual 2.30pm pickup game.there will be 1pm practices in the weeks between tour 1 and tour 2.jon

Practices over the next few weeks

Over the next few weeks there are quite a few things going on tournament and tournament-specific practice wise, so here’s when the 1pm structured practices will or won’t be happening.

Note: there is always an open pickup session at 2.30pm to which all are welcome. (Though turnout may be lower if tournaments are on).

Wknd of:
16-17 Feb – no practice session: Paga beach training wknd
23-24 Feb – no practice session: Mixed Nationals/Aye-Aye (unlikely to be many about for a pickup I suspect)
1-2 Mar – open practice session (will be esp. for the Paga players, but all welcome).
8-9 Mar – closed practice session for Tour 0 players (note: this is only open to people playing on Curve’s Open Tour team)
15-16 Mar – no practice session: Tour 0
23-24 Mar – no practice session: Paga !
29-30 Mar – open practice session
5-6 Apr – no practice session: Tour 1

As many of us, including me. are away at indoor regionals this wknd, I won’t be running a pre-game practice session on Sunday 26 Jan.

There will be prob be a few people out for a pickup game from ~2-2.30pm. Check the email list to confirm.

Practice this Sunday will start at 1pm. We will be working on cutting techniques and horizontal stack, going into a proper game from around 2:15pm.
